Behavior analysis services are provided to assist individuals to learn new behaviors that are directly related to existing challenging behaviors or functionally equivalent replacement behaviors for identified challenging behaviors. Services may also be provided to increase existing behavior, to reduce existing behavior, and to help the individual emit behavior under precise environmental conditions. The term "behavior analysis services" includes the terms "behavior programming" and "behavioral programs." Behavior analysis includes the design, implementation and evaluation of systematic environmental modifications for the purposes of producing socially significant improvements in behavior. It includes identification of functional relationships between behavior and environment. It uses direct observation and measurement of behavior and environment. Contextual factors, establishing operations, antecedent stimuli, positive reinforcement and other consequences are used based on identified functional relationships between behavior and environment, in order to produce practical behavior change.

The Registered Behavior Technician™ (RBT®) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA, BCaBA, or FL-CBA. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. It is the responsibility of the RBT supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence. The BACB certificant supervising the RBT is responsible for the work performed by the RBT on the cases they are overseeing.

Behavior assistant services are direct activities related to the delivery of behavior analysis services and are designated in and required by a behavior analysis service plan. Activities include monitoring of behavior analysis services, the implementation of behavioral procedures for acquisition of replacement skills and reduction of problematic behaviors, data collection and display (e.g., graphics) as authorized by a recipient's behavior analysis service plan and assist the behavior analyst in training of parents and/or staff.

Elevate Your Career Path with
Team PBS runs a dedicated Student Analyst Program—a structured mentorship pathway that aligns with your ABA coursework and meets BCBA/BCaBA supervision requirements. This program is designed to foster confident, ethical, and highly skilled future analysts through hands-on experience, ongoing support, and targeted feedback.
Please note: Eligibility for the Student Analyst Program requires active enrollment in advanced Applied Behavior Analysis coursework. Candidates should first apply for a Behavior Assistant or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position. Once enrollment is verified, the role is formally reclassified to Student Analyst.
Welcome to the onboarding process! This section will guide you through the key steps to get you fully set up and ready to start your new role. Let's take a closer look at what you can expect:

"I have been working at PBS for some time now, and it's truly an incredible place to grow both professionally and personally. The team is genuinely supportive and collaborates to find the best solutions for the clients we serve. I never feel alone when facing challenges because my colleagues and leadership team are always willing to help. PBS is deeply committed to clinical excellence, ensuring that staff have access to high-quality training and ongoing professional development opportunities. I've been able to expand my skill set and feel confident in my clinical decisions, knowing I have a knowledgeable team behind me. One of the standout aspects of working at PBS is the flexibility. They understand the importance of work-life balance, which has allowed me to be present for my family while also pursuing my career goals. If you're looking for a place that values teamwork, supports your professional growth, and offers the flexibility you need, PBS is the place to be!"

"The BCBAs are amazing and take your opinion into consideration when making or adjusting the plan. The only negative thing I can say is when you get hired you don't speak to anyone you do a recorded video interview, and somebody reviews them and then if they like you, you go onto the next step and then eventually you'll receive a email with a job offer so the whole time I never spoke to anyone, that was kind of strange to me. I think the onboarding training could go a little more in detail because I didn't know how to clock in my first day, but don't worry you won't be alone your first day your BA will be with you!"

"I started working at PBS Nov 2024 after a negative experience with a clinic in Columbus. There was excellent communication from the start and that to this day has continued! The River Valley team is A+++!! My husband was diagnosed with cancer not long after I began my position and PBS has been there and supported me the whole time whether is has been time off, flexible schedule or just support in general! I cannot say enough GREAT things about this company. This was my first IN HOME job since becoming an RBT and I have learned so many beneficial things from my peers and clients! 10/10 if you are looking to start working towards becoming an RBT or BCBA there are no other companies as supportive as PBS!!"
