And while this discussion is worth and necessary, it is worth getting into the minutia of what self-care is and how to improve it. In this talk, Dr. Shane T. Spiker discusses how a functional approach to self-care is the best opportunity to understand how variables influence our self-caring behaviors. Here, we will discuss and define self-care and discuss how self-caring behaviors may look from a more functional approach.
